During the festival of dolma residents of different regions of Armenia are going to show their skills in the preparation of the famous Armenian national dish - dolma. Each of the participants of the festival represents his own way of preparing this dish. Dolma is prepared from minced lamb meat or beef mixed with rice, fresh herbs and plenty of spices, wrapped in grape or cabbage leaves. Armenians use their favourite seasonings, such as coriander, dill, mint, pepper and cinnamon. Sometimes mountain chestnuts are used as seasoning. Well-known matsun (Armenian jogurt) with garlic is often used as a sauce. In addition to the grape or cabbage leaves sometimes Armenians stuff eggplants, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, onions, quinces and apples with minced meat.
During the festival guests have opportunity to watch competitions not only between the residents of different regions of Armenia, but also between professional chiefs from famous restaurants.
Due to delicious Armenian dish, the spirit of competition and the cheerfull atmosphere you would not get bored during this festival!
